An Open House is a yearly event that takes place and kicks off the school year. Keys Gate Charter High’s open house took place on September 5th from 6:00 p.m. -7:30 p.m. Parents were welcomed into the cafeteria while being greeted by the varsity cheerleaders. Mr. Hull, the principal, then prepared an informational PowerPoint for the parents to engage in before they were released to the classrooms. Keys Gate wanted to open its doors and let parents interact with their child’s teachers and classroom environment. Teachers opened their classrooms up to the parents while explaining class goals, grading, and necessary information about the courses. The cheerleaders were on each floor performing cheers for the parents as they were switching periods. Ms. Steenhoff, the activities director, even played songs over the speaker to entertain the parents. “Open house was an amazing way to start off the school year, and I am glad I got to meet the great staff at Keys Gate,” Antonia Linder, the mother of a high school student, said.
