Stoneman Douglass Walkout –

What started as a regular morning at Keys Gate quickly turned into something much more. It was March 14th, one month since the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which claimed seventeen lives. Out of respect, students of Keys Gate walked out of the building and onto the fields at 10 a.m. There was a moment of silence for each victim of the shooting, as well as speeches on the need for better gun laws and restrictions, as well the mental health problem in our country. "It's amazing to see my generation taking a stand for this subject.. We're making much-needed changes, one step at a time," Derek Algarin, a walkout participant, stated.
