Saint Patrick's Day is a religious celebration that is held every year on March 17th. This day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity to Ireland. Today, celebrations have influenced North America, which normally involve festivals, parades, and traditional musical sessions. However, the most common way people celebrate St Patrick's Day is by wearing any type of green clothing. The reason we associate the color green with this holiday is that in the Irish story of Goídel Glas, a snake bit him. Moses saved him from death by using his staff, leaving a green mark on his arm. This later emphasized his name Goídel, which is the Irish word for green.
