Strength and a lot of enthusiasm was seen in the baseball game on February 27, at 3:30 pm. It was the Keys Gate Knights' home opener versus their district rivals, the Key West Conchs. The starting pitcher for the Knights was senior Jimmy Galvis. He carried the team through five innings, only allowing three runs and striking out six. Rey Hernandez led off the game with a double. The Knights' bats collected eight hits in total. The Knights fell short to Key West by allowing five runs in late innings. The final score of the game was 8-2. The Knights now hold a season record of 1-3 and a district record of 0-1.
