Student Blood Drive
In urgent need for blood donations across the country, “One Blood” hosted a blood drive and attracted the people of Miami-Dade County to donate blood. These units of donated blood will then be tested and ready to be shipped off to One Blood’s main targets, Puerto Rico, and Las Vegas, due to recent events. The October 6th blood drive was held Friday at the front of the 7-12th Keys Gate Charter High School building. Parents and students were lined up to enter one of the two One Blood trucks after registering to donate blood. Once inside, they are seated and prepared to give their blood which takes from 15-20 minutes. Afterwards, donors are offered juice and thanked for their generosity. “I enjoyed this experience of donating blood and I feel that we should help others,” one local resident that has donated blood seven times before said. “One pint of blood can save three lives,” Arthur Ramos, the supervisor added.
