Special Jean Day
Students were allowed to participate in “Jean Day” for 3 consecutive days at Keys Gate Charter High School to help the families of the students involved in the car accident. Many students and teachers participated by paying $1 or more to wear jeans for the day rather than their uniform. A white-out basketball game was also held in honor of the students; attendees wearing white in support of the families and students.
On the evening of November 22, 2016 there were three high school students involved in the car crash with the driver, Samir Barerra, 18, a Senior, the passengers, Isiah West, 17, a Junior, with the sole survivor Isaac Lipscomb, 17, a Junior. "It's crazy to think of something like this happening, Philip Philanthrope, a Wrestling teammate added.
