Martin Luther King
Martin Luther King Jr. was a minister who was a leader in the African American civil rights movement. In 1963, he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, saying that he had a dream where whites and blacks joined hands unified together. King received a noble peace prize in 1964 for combating racial inequality through nonviolence. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated on April 4th, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee. On January 18th Americans take time off to appreciate of the many changes that our civil rights leaders have done for the community.
