Knights Homecoming Football Game
Cheering, supporting, and motivating is how the crow shows pride from the bleachers at the annual Knights homecoming football game that took place on Friday September 16th, 2016 on Harris Field at 7:30pm against the Miami Edison Raiders. This year was a year of defeat. The Knights lost to the Raiders 47-7. “Everyone takes a loss; this game was a minor setback for a major comeback”, Deaundre Wynter #16 on the Keys Gate Varsity Football team said. The loss was not the only devastating event that occurred during the game. Two Knights Marcus Strong and Ya’Til Q. Kitchen suffered injuries which resulted in them being taken out of the game, ending their playing time early. This year’s Homecoming game was also an opportunity to name the 2016-2017 Homecoming court. Two seniors took the title of Homecoming Queen and King this year: Stephanie Noel, Cheerleader and Angelo Gonzalez, Football player.
