A Lip Sync Battle for the Ages

Keys Gate Charter High School’s Model United Nations and Class of 2018 hosted this year’s Lip Sync Battle 2, on Friday, April 22nd. This year, 6 student contestants (Carlos Serrano, Carlos & Milena, Janexy & Sam, Ivana, the AA, and Model UN, and 3 teacher contestants: Ms. Gibbs & Ms. Lopez, Ms. Luces and Co., and Ms. Shaw) competed by lip syncing to songs from certain eras of music history. After 3 rounds of intense battles, Carlos & Milena were victorious among the 6, and were given one final challenge: competing against Veronica, last year’s Lip Sync Battle champion. But, before the final battle, the teachers battled it out, with Ms. Shaw winning with the disco classic “I Will Survive”. After that, it was time. Both student contestants went all out, Veronica attempting to defend her title with Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, but Carlos & Milena took home their victory with Rihanna and Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” dethroning Veronica and becoming the new Lip Sync Battle champions. “I’m so proud of everyone who made this Lip Sync Battle such a success! Now, time to plan for Lip Sync Battle 3!” Ms. Pizarro, the sponsor of both Model UN and Class of 2018, and the director of Lip Sync Battle 3, said.
