Take your child to work day is a non-profit educational program that involves parents taking their child to work for one day. It was original "Take Our Daughter to Work Day", until 2003, when boys were included. The program was changed in order to provide both boys and girls with opportunities to explore careers at an age when they are more flexible in terms of gender roles. It's celebrated on the 4th Thursday in April every year. On Friday, February 5th students visit fire stations, offices, hospitals, or even their own home to learn more about their parent or guardians’ workspace. "It was fun hanging out with my dad at the fire station," Christina Davis stated.
