It is a tradition for Homestead to host an annual parade celebrating 2016 rodeo. This year the parade took place in Downtown Homestead on Saturday, January 23rd. Hundreds of people gathered on the sides of the streets to watch the celebration that started at 11:00 a.m. Many schools participated such as South Dade, Everglades, and Keys Gate to name a few. Keys Gate was a full participant at the event as they came with the cheer, band team, several clubs, and the school mascot. The candidates for the rodeo queen were also campaigning in the parade. "It was a great turnout and we looked good,” Angelina Morman 11th grade Counselor, said.
